Food
Tea sandwiches are always a good snack to go with your tea tasting and they are really easy to make! Some sandwich ideas are cucumber and herbed cream cheese, strawberries, and cream cheese, or egg salad on pumpernickel. It's also fun to add other sweets like scones!
Sandwich Recipes:
- Cucumber and Herbed Cream Cheese Sandwich
Thinly slice cucumbers and radishes and dab with a paper towel to remove moisture. Next, spread herbed cream cheese on sliced bread and place slices of cucumbers on the bread, overlapping to cover the bread slice entirely. Make sure to do the same with the radishes. When you're done, press lightly to set in place with the paper towel. Finally, trim the crust and slice in half, then garnish with fresh herbs, and serve immediately.
- Strawberries and Cream Cheese Sandwich
Toast the bread, top with cream cheese, add a little bit of honey, and thinly sliced strawberries. Finish by cutting in half and putting them on a platter to be served.
- Egg Salad on Pumpernickel Sandwich
Whisk together 2 cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup dill, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard and white wine vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of paprika in a large bowl. Next add finely chopped 12 hard-boiled eggs, 6 ounces of crab meat, and a teaspoon of black poppy seeds to the mix. If the mixture seems dry, add more mayonnaise and finish the mixture with salt and pepper. Finally, mound the egg salad on bread and garnish with radish and dill fronds.
Teas
A various selection of fine teas always adds a fun element to a tea party. Fragrant herbal and floral teas are perfect teas to try during the spring! Don’t forget to have cream, sugar cubes, and lemon wedges.
